Ms. Plaisance Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy 2016-2017 8th Grade Math Ms. Plaisance 2017-2018 Late / Incomplete Work Absentee Policy 2016-2017 My expectation is that ALL assignments be completed and turned in on time. The school’s rules will apply. * YES, WE DID SOMETHING IMPORTANT WHILE YOU WERE ABSENT. It is the student’s responsibility to check the class inbox to find any assignments missed. * A student is exempt only from homework when absent. * Bell Work must be made up with another student during Bell Work when the student returns. * If a test/classwork grade was administered on a day a student was absent, the grade must be rescheduled upon return. If previously assigned work was due on the day of the absence, the work is due on the first day the student returns. Homework & Bell work Homework will be a very important part of the student’s success in my classroom. The teacher will check homework at the beginning of class. Homework will count as a part of a student’s grade in my course. At the start of class, the teacher will have bell work problems on the board. This will usually be a review problem or an important skill that the students will need for the daily lesson. Multiplication, division, simplifying fractions, and decimals are just some of the skills that will be ongoing through the year. The teacher will check over these problems (Monday-Thursday) and it will be your child’s responsibility to correct their mistakes. On Fridays the teacher will NOT go over the daily bell work problems. All bell work answers are checked for accuracy regularly. Bell work will count as a part of a student’s grade in my course. ClassWORK Classwork may include: Interactive notebook pages (IN)- class notes Skill builders- a spiral review sheet assigned weekly Review Lessons Any in-class assignment I, ________________________________________, have read and understand the rules and expectations for Math. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to contact my teacher if I have any questions or concerns. I understand that there will be a quiz over the information on this syllabus to ensure I read and understand the rules and expectations.
