Understanding Apply Texas By Kevin Sanders University of North Texas Freshman Admissions Counselor

What is ApplyTexas? ApplyTexas was created to provide a centralized means for both Texas and non-Texas students to apply to various institutions available through ApplyTexas.

Page 1 Need to Knows Have your social security number on hand (inputting it is optional) Select correct option if you have military affiliation Accurately state parent(s)/guardian(s) educational background Write down and remember your assigned application ID

Page 2 Need to Knows Recognize if you have other languages you speak “fluently” Speak with your parent(s)/guardian(s) to determine the accurate gross family income Know the number of people that live with you (this includes you) Accurately fill out Supplemental Parental Information (may require you to get more information from parent(s)/guardian(s)

Page 3 Need to Knows Accurately state if you do/don’t have college credits Put the correct high school you attended Use the “Search for your High School” option Your high school is definitely listed, see the previous example If you have attend multiple high schools, please enter that information Enter dual credit information Not inputting information may be viewed as intentional and lead to forced withdrawal

Page 6 Need to Knows Answer residency questions accurately and truthfully Answers may effect the tuition you pay If you are not sure what your answers are, ask your parent(s)/guardian(s)

Important Dates Fall 2016 Application – August 1, 2016 Financial Aid Application – October 1, 2016 Scholarship deadline – March 1, 2016
