Exam Season Survival Session

Balance – work, rest and play Be prepared Don’t panic!

Work, rest and play Establish expectations - how much revision, how often Chunk revision – breaks for food, bathroom should be in down time Limit access to social media – leave phones outside the work space Send your child out for a walk / swim / bike ride / to get the paper… Encourage them to have some reading for pleasure Establish good sleep / rest patterns

Be prepared Work area – desk/table, comfortable chair, well lit, away from noise Paper, pens, highlighters, post-it notes Food! Balanced meals, regular treats Exam timetable – make a couple of copies and stick it on the fridge door Check the family calendar

Be firm – ensure they stick to their plan Don’t panic! Be firm – ensure they stick to their plan Be patient – expect the occasional ‘wobbler’ Be encouraging - you want them to look forward to the summer, including results day
