Kennie Rebecca Miss. McPherson English 10th Bloody Affair

This picture is appropriate for my album cover because this picture basically tells the story of Macbeth how his world is dark and bloody full of evil hate ,brutal murders and revenge. Secondly This picture shows a bloody sky ,black background to show the darkness and evil. I choose to put the hand holding the bloody dagger to represent Macbeth Murdering Duncan, Banquo, and Macduff’s family. I also choose this cover because it goes with the title of my album Bloody affair and the songs of all the acts to go with the play Macbeth. Lastly I choose this cover because it was simple and easy to understand and give ideas about what the songs will be about.

ACT I True Loyalty by 50 cent This song is appropriate for act I because act I is about how brave and Loyal Macbeth is for fighting against the traitor to save his king that he loves dearly.“I ride, you ride for me My enemies your enemies ”(50 cent 15-16). This quote from the song “True Loyalty” is saying ill fight for you, your enemies is also my enemies. this quote from the song is similar to the scene from the play Macbeth when Macbeth fought bravely and sliced a man open to protect Duncan and his country. “O valiant cousin worthy gentleman as where the sun gins his reflection” (I.II.2). This reminds me of when 50 cent says how could you not love a true friend like me just like when Duncan is showing love and appreciation to Macbeth for fighting for him. Both the song and act I has the same similarity of showing loyalty willing to fight and die to save and protect their friend.

ACT II “Raining Blood” by Slayer I choose the song “Raining Blood” for Act II of the play Macbeth because the song is talking about betrayal, evilness and darkness. That makes me think about how Macbeth betrays the king by stabbing and killing him in order to become king. This quote “Raining blood From a lacerated sky Bleeding its horror Creating my structure Now I shall reign in blood” (Slayer5). Is similar to the night that Macbeth had killed the king the blood was in his hands and he felt like he would never get rid of it and he would turn the seas red with his hands of blood. “Is’t night’s predominance, or the day’s shame,/That darkness does the face of earth entomb,/ When living light should kiss it?/ Tis unnatural “(II.IV.29). This describes how darkness filled that night that Macbeth killed Duncan and betrayed his trust. Because of its reference to betrayal and evilness and darkness this song is an appropriate choice to go with Act II of Macbeth.

Act III Murder in the Rue Morgue by Iron Maiden I believe The song “Murder in the Rue Morgue” is appropriate for act III because it reminds me of the night when Banquo and his sons were walking and the murders that Macbeth sent to kill him just shows up and murders him. “I remember it as plain as day Although it happened in the dark of the night I was strolling through the streets of Paris”(stanza 1). This part of the song is similar to when Banquo was just walking with his son and he got murder. “And I rushed to the scene of the crime But all I found was the butchered remains” (stanza 1). This reminds me of when the murders were describing how Banquo badly they murdered Banquo and how they stabbed him multiple times. Further more I believe that this song is appropriate for Act III because I believe that it re creates the scene of Banquo’s murder.

Act Iv Seeking and destroy by Metallica This song is appropriate for Act IV because it goes with the theme of wanting Revenge. The song seeking and destroy reminds me of Malcolm and Macduff wanting revenge on Macbeth for corrupting Scotland and murdering Macduff family and other innocent people. “We're scanning the scene In the city tonight We're looking for you To start up a fight ” (Metallic 1). This part of the song reminds me of when Macduff and Malcolm are putting together an army to destroy Macbeth. “let’s make us medicines of our great revenge, to cure this deadly grief”(Iv.III.67). Further more this quote goes with the song because Malcolm is telling Macduff to use grief as anger to get revenge from Macbeth for killing his family. I think that this song is appropriate for Act IV because it goes with the theme of wanting revenge.

ACT V Crashing Down by Mat Kearney The song “crashing down” by Mat Kearney is appropriate for act V because its talking about when everything starts crashing down just like in the play when Macbeth finds out he has been tricked by the witches and gets defeat and killed by Macduff. “I look’d toward Birnam, and anon, methought, The wood began to move” (v.v.77). This quote in the play remind me of the song because this beginning of when everything started to crash for Macbeth because the apparition told him the only way he could be defeated is if Birnam wood moves to Dunsinane which was happing. “These four walls are closing in on me”(stanza 13). This part of the song reminds me of when Macbeth found out that Macduff wasn’t born of a women and the apparitions told no man born of a women can harm him. He found out that the witches tricked him and everything came crashing down for him. “Re-enter Macduff, with Macbeth’s head”(v.viii.82).
