Let Me Introduce Myself I received my BS Mathematics from BYU in 2007. I am currently working on my MEd through Weber State. This is my third year teaching at Millcreek. Our Focus on Learning Secondary Math II Honors Work with quadratic expressions, equations, and functions; compare their characteristics and behavior to those of linear and exponential relationships. Extend the set of rational numbers, and real and complex numbers are introduced so that all quadratic equations can be solved. The link between probability and data is explored through conditional probability and counting methods, including their use in making and evaluating decisions. The study of similarity leads to an understanding of right triangle trigonometry and connects to quadratics through Pythagorean relationships. Circles, with their quadratic algebraic representations, round out the course. NOTE: Add the title of your course. Classroom Policies and Procedures The classroom experience cannot be duplicated at home. Please arrange appointments and outings around class time. Students earn their grades by making progress towards/reaching the learning goals for the term. How I can be successful in this Course Know what the day’s learning goal is and where you are in relation to it. Put in your best work (thinking, listening, participating, asking) during every class activity. Embrace struggle and challenge. Don’t be afraid of mistakes, learn from them. Don’t give up. Come in for extra help if needed. Be positive and enjoy learning! Our Focus on Learning Secondary Math I Deepen and extend understanding of linear relationships, in part by contrasting them with exponential phenomena, and in part by applying linear models to data that exhibit a linear trend. Use properties and theorems involving congruent figures to deepen and extend understanding of geometric knowledge. Tie together the algebraic and geometric ideas studied throughout the course.
