Progress in the delivery of P.E Every year the PE leaders evaluate PE and devise an action plan as to what needs to be achieved throughout the year to ensure the delivery of PE progresses. These are some of the action plan points. Action Plan 2015/2016 Action Steps taken To allocate money for Sports Premium Training for staff, extra time for competition children, coaching for classes, promotion of healthy lifestyle. Fitness Test For children to part take in the fitness test every term. Staff to review the results and ensure all children are being challenged and supported through sports star, change4life and games club. To maintain Silver Kitemark To have sports leaders To Part take in competitions inter and intra To have at least 35% of extra curricular activities Sports newsletter

Kitemark Award In 2013/2014 we were proud to achieve the bronze Kitemark award for sport. In 2014/2015 we were very proud to achieve the Silver Kitemark award for sport. In 2015/2016 we aim to maintain the Silver award. The reason for not aiming for gold is due to the lack of facilities with the building work.

Continued Professional Development One of our staff’s opinion of CDP: CPD 2014/15 CPD 2015/2016 Staff received at least ½ a term of support from specialist coaches. Year 1 – Dance, Ball Skills Year 2 – Football, Gymnastics, Cricket, Rules of Games Year 3 – Hockey, Athletics, Games, Ball Skills Year 4 – Football, Hockey Year 5 – Basketball, Athletics, Football, Orienteering Year 6 – Football, Basketball, Tag Rugby Staff said that have they now feel a lot more confident teaching these particular sports. To continue developing our staff with delivering P.E, this year they will have support from ‘Premier Sports’ (specialist coaches). Each teacher will get or have had 1 term’s support. The coach has brilliant relationships with the children.”

Competition Club We have used some of the funding to create a club for children to practise, as a team, for a competition that may be coming up. This has helped our results to improve! 2013/14 2014/15 2015/2016 Swimming Gala: 8th place. 0 through to represent Burslem Northwood Results: No. of children through to represent Burslem: 5 Medals won: 2 first, 2 second, 3 third Cricket Results: Boys – 5th out of 12 teams Girls – 3rd out of 3 teams Cross Country: Best Boys Position - 15 Best Girls Position – 5 Football: 4th out of 5 teams Hockey/Quicksticks: Won 2 out of 5 games Swimming Gala: 4th place. 3 through to represent Burslem Northwood Results: No. of children through to represent Burslem: 3 Medals won: (results not in yet) Cricket Results: Boys – 5th out of 9 teams Girls – 4th – though to county finals where they came 5th out of 10 in the whole of Staffordshire. Cross Country: Best Boys Position - 5 Best Girls Position – 19 Girls came second overall! Some intra school winners Intra School Competitions At the end of every term, every class in each phase competes against each other in a sporting event to find a phase winner. This ensures that all children partake in competitive sport at least 3 times a year and is also a lot of fun! Some intra school winners

Sports Stars Challenges As well as competing against themselves and the other children in the school, the Sports Stars are also competing against other children in local schools (the collegiate). The results are all sent to a central location and then an overall winner can be found from all schools. The Plank March’s challenge – stay in the plank position for as long as you possibly can. Ball Catch April/May challenge – to throw and catch a tennis ball against a wall using only one hand. You must be 3m away and standing on one leg! You have 1 minute. Skipping June Challenge – how many skips can you do in 1 minute?

Sports Stars Sports Stars School Results 2015/2016 Our ‘Sports Stars’ are a group of children who have shown an extra exciting level of potential! This group compete against each other, themselves and children from other schools at different sports activities and push themselves to excel.
