Mystery Word Game Review for Quarterly

Rules One person will stand with their backs to the whiteboard. I will put up a word on the projector. The audience will then raise their hands to give the person a clue. If the person guessing the word gets it right on the first clue, (s)he gets a griffin dollar and so does the clue giver. The audience needs to be writing down the word and the definition.

Rules continued Cannot say: Any part of the word Starts with… Rhymes with…

Example Strawberry

Volume The amount of space something takes up.

Length The distance from point A to point B

Mass The amount of matter something has.

Graduated Cylinder A tool used to measure the volume of a liquid.

Scientific Method An organized way of asking and answering questions.

Direct Relationship A relationship in a line graph where both variables increase.

Hypothesis A possible answer or explanation.

Control Variable The variable that you are not testing for in an experiment. It stays the same.

Prokaryotic Cell A type of cell that does not have a nucleus.

Eukaryotic Cell A type of cell that does have a nucleus.

Reproduction Making more of the same kind.

Nucleus The control center of the cell.

Cytoplasm The liquid like substance inside the cell.

Photosynthesis The process that converts sunlight into glucose.

Cellular Respiration The process of converting oxygen into energy.

Chloroplast An organelle found in plant cells, where photosynthesis happens.

Question The second step of the scientific method.

Cells The basic unit of life.

Organelles Tiny structures inside the cell that help the cell live.

SI A system of measurement used by scientist all over the world.

Observation Something that can be done with your 5 senses.

9-911 Number you call when there is an emergency.
