The purpose of the South River Music Boosters is to raise funds to supplement the music program at SRHS and to enhance the character of the music activities of the school through various means of support.

The means through which we can provide this support is primarily FUNDRAISING. South River High School has one of the lowest band fee assessments in the county We rely heavily on fundraising to keep our band going strong while keeping family costs to a minimum We emphasize passive fundraising that is as transparent as possible, such as family nights at area restaurants and online shopping sites that give back percentages of sales. No door-to- door sales It truly takes a village to fund a music program!

Fundraising for the current school year… so far The 2017 Renaissance Festival Fundraiser √ DONE! The last Sunday in August Six adult volunteers and fifteen student volunteers Work various soda stands throughout the festival from 10am- 7pm Usually our largest fundraising effort of the year

Fundraising for the current school year… so far First 2 Restaurant Family Nights are scheduled. Please come out and support the band! Chipotle, Edgewater, September 19th from 5-9. Bring a flyer, show the flyer on your mobile phone, or simply mention you are dining to support the South River Band. We will receive 50% of the qualifying sales All-American Steak House, Edgewater, October 24th, from 4-9. Tri-M will provide music outside the restaurant, and we will earn 10% of ALL sales during that time

Fundraising for the current school year… so far Giant Gift Card Program (in process) We collect order forms and payments for Giant Gift cards, for face value Giant provides the cards at a 5% discount Order forms can be printed from the fundraiser tab at www.southrivermusic.org, and sent to school with payment (checks made out to South River Music Boosters) Cards will be sent home with your student approximately one week later.

Volunteering – Background Check Volunteers must have a background check through AACPS Online Good for 2 years Free Log on to aacps.org On the dashboard, click on “Families” Click on the yellow sign which reads, “School Safety and Security” On the left side of the page, click on “Chaperone/Background Check” At the bottom of the page, click on “Apply for Background Check” Once you receive notice your background check is complete, send a message to southrivermusic@gmail.com letting us know the effective date
