Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day Celebrated internationally during Engineers Week Having fun doing hands-on engineering activities Meet students, professors and engineers from the industry See what it’s like to be an engineer

Description of Event More than 1,600 Families, students ( grades 1-8) participated including families and educators 96 activities: Grade-specific, hands-on engineering activities interact with UT students, staff, faculty, volunteers and engineers from industry Girl Scouts received a Girl Day patch Engineering Students had opportunity to develop leadership and presentation skills

Summary of Stats 1660 1-8th graders participated! Diversity 98% female 9%African American 26% Latina 12% Asian 1%American Indian and Native Hawaiian Geographically: 64% from Central Texas 15% from greater Houston area 11% from greater San Antonio area 10% Dallas, Laredo and Ft. Lauderdale
