Forces & Motion.
The mass of an object and it’s weight are different things. Here we’ll show you how mass, weight, and gravity are all related.

Mass of an object is the measure of its inertia. Greater the mass, the greater is the inertia. It remains the same whether the object is on the earth,

Mass and weight

What is the difference between them? Mass and weight What is mass? What is weight? What is the difference between them? Mass = Weight?

Mass is the total amount of matter or material in the object Mass and weight Mass is the total amount of matter or material in the object E.g. This is a wooden block. The total amount of wood in this block is 4 kg. Then its mass is 4 kg Whether it is on the Earth, on the Moon or in space, the mass is the same

Weight of an object is the pull on it by the Earth Mass and weight Weight of an object is the pull on it by the Earth Thus, it is a force and is measured in newton (N) Its weight = (4 X 10) N = 40 N E.g. Do you know how the weight changes, if this block is brought to the Moon? The weight varies from place to place
