What I need 1-1.5 inch binder Paper Writing utensils

The Course Early man and ancient civilizations along with the study of Africa, South Asia, East Asia, Southeast Asia and Europe up until the year 1750CE. SPICE perspective (the social, political, interaction between humans and their environment, cultural, and economic) Enduring issues that have affected humans across time.

What is not on the sheet BE PREPARED BE RESPONSIBLE BE RESPECTFUL Classroom Expectations BE PREPARED Come to class with all necessary materials, with assignments completed on time, and be ready to learn and participate. Try to have a positive mindset. Binder, paper, pen and pencil. BE RESPONSIBLE It is easy to be a spectator when you are learning, but to truly learn you need to take an active role in class. You need to OWN your learning. Ask questions, contribute to the conversation, and advocate for yourself when you need to. BE RESPECTFUL You are expected to contribute to a positive learning environment in this classroom. Be respectful towards your peers, teacher and yourself. Food- Yes, but a few ground rules: Nothing smelly Nothing noisy Food allergies are real, so please keep food on something and not on the desk. Please avoid anything with nuts if possible. (if you do eat something with nuts, please let me know) Bathroom: You should be going in between classes, but if it is an emergency you may ask.

Grades: Simple point system Unit tests and long term projects assignments = the most significant portion of each quarters grade. Homework and longer assignments (in most cases) will be given feedback (not a grade) you will have the ability to improve your work based on the feedback and turn it in for a final grade.

Late Work and Make Ups: Absent- Work expected to be made up in a timely. Homework and assignments are expected to be turned in the day that they are due. If not, you will not have the opportunity to receive feedback and a chance to “improve” it Completed by the “improvement” due date. Or it will be half credit Will except until end of quarter for half credit * No retake on any tests unless all work is complete.

All Freshman students will complete and English/Social Studies Freshmen Research Paper & Annotated Bibliography project about a historical figure that you have will have the chance to select. The Social Studies portion will take place during the third quarter for a fourth quarter grade. Major Project:

Extra Credit: There will be an opportunity every quarter in class this year for you to earn extra credit. This will consist of listening to Podcasts about interesting historical topics, events, people, mysteries, and trivia.

Get to know you cards and Books Fill out the get to know you cards while books are passed out If you do not finish, you can do it for HW I will be around to get the book # from you
