OBJECTIVES OF THE SCIENTIFIC AND DEVELOPMENT WORK ON THE PROJECT Development of master curricula for natural disasters risk management in Western Balkan countries OBJECTIVES OF THE SCIENTIFIC AND DEVELOPMENT WORK ON THE PROJECT Assessment of vulnerability to natural disasters and other catastrophes, will be performed through following scientific and expert analysis: Characteristics of the territories and critical infrastructure, Vulnerability of the territory, and Possible consequences, needs and possibilities for protection and rescue of people, material goods and the environment from natural disasters and other catastrophes.

The execution of the final assessment of the vulnerability of the territory, will provide the basis for education and training of the subjects of the protection and rescue system. It will allow them to develop protection and rescue plans but it will also help in preparation of the emergency situations headquarters to manage the operations in emergency situations. 3

Simultaneously, we wil consider the possibility of their implementation in the national system of protection and rescue, respectively in the framework of security management in emergency situations 5
