Censorship The practice of officially examining books, movies, etc.., and suppressing the unacceptable parts

Question 1 How does the government censor our entertainment? To what extent SHOULD the government censor our entertainment?

Question 2 To what extent should social media be censored?

Question 3 Does the government censor our news? To what extent should the government censor our news?

Quote 1 “You seldom get a censorship attempt from a 14-year-old boy. It’s the adults who get upset.” –Robert Cormier What is the purpose of censorship? What are some of the benefits?

Quote 2 “I’m not interested in censorship. I like the First Amendment very much.” –Henry Rollins Are there limits to the First Amendment?

Quote 3 “Let children read whatever they want and then talk about it with them. If parents and kids can talk together, we wont have as much censorship because we wont have as much fear.” –Judy Blume Should kids be allowed to read whatever they want? Does censorship = fear?

Quote 4 “Censorship is to art as lynching is to justice.” –Henry Louis Gates What does this quote mean? Do you agree with it?
