DAVID FLEES TO GATH MEMORY VERSE: “And David arose and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath.” 1 Samuel 21:10 TEXT: 1 Samuel 21:1-15

INTRODUCTION From the previous lessons, God gave David victory over Goliath and his people, the Philistine. The women of Jerusalem sang,” Saul has slain his thousand, and David has slain his ten thousands”.

God did not allow Saul’s plan to kill David to come to past. INTRODUCTION This generated jealousy and anger in Saul and he sought to kill David by all means. God did not allow Saul’s plan to kill David to come to past. God will not allow the plan of your enemies to come to past in your lives, rather He will fulfill His plan and purpose for your lives.

DAVID FLEES TO GATH Do not be like Saul, who is angry and jealous over David’s success and achievements. Rejoice with those who are rejoicing and be happy when others are successful. If you are angry and jealous over other people’s success, you need to ask for forgiveness from God. Let Him wash you with the blood of Jesus, so that you will not die and go to hell fire.

DAVID FLEES TO GATH David was too scared of Saul to take time to pray. He sought for refuge among the ungodly Philistines and indirectly caused the death of the priest and many others. It shows that David did not fully commit his life to the Lord for divine protection and guidance. Friends of Jesus must pray and wait to hear from God when passing through difficult times. Regardless of the threat from the enemies, be assured that God will bring to past his promises. Sinners are to run to Jesus, receive Him and escape from the danger of hell fire.

RUN INTO CHRIST FOR SAFETY Run to Christ today for the salvation of your soul and protection of your life. Anyone outside Christ is exposed to Satan and evil spirits. Do not run and look for help where there is no help. People do that and get into wrong hands and false doctrine. Jesus Christ is our hiding place

RUN INTO CHRIST FOR SAFETY Run to Christ today and be safe. Forsake all your sins Confess your sins Ask God to forgive you and wash you with the blood of Jesus. He will also give you the power to go and sin no more.

BLESSINGS OF RUNNING INTO CHRIST The first and greatest blessing is that you will be saved and become a child of God. Other blessings include: Holiness of life Divine protection Provision Healing Answer to prayers Victory over your enemies Success in all you do Deliverance from the wrath of God

BLESSINGS OF RUNNING INTO CHRIST Continuing in Jesus, helps us to keep God’s blessings. Regular quiet time Attending fellowship with God’s children Read and think on God’s word that you’ve read. Tell other sinful children about the love of Christ

QUESTION Why did Saul want to kill David? Where did David run to in our Bible passage? Where should a friend of Jesus run to for safety? What are the benefits of running into Christ? What steps should a sinful child take to come under God’s refuge?

God’s protection and care is for only boys and girls who are in Christ LESSON God’s protection and care is for only boys and girls who are in Christ

THOUGHT I will forsake my naughty ways and run into Christ so as to enjoy God’s protection.
