1) Mountains Karakoram and the Himalayas form India’s northern border. Satpura range divides India into half. These mountains create two different cultures. (North and South)

2) Plains & Plateaus Ganges Plain has some of the most fertile soil in the country. Ganges river begins in Himalayas and flows to the Bay of Bengal. Deccan Plateau located in southern 2/3 of India. Forests, fertile farmland, and rich deposits of minerals make this plateau valuable.
