Launching the Gradebook PTG – had to be launched, as it was a separate Java App. Teachers selected it from the left navigational bar PTP – is built into PowerSchool, once you log in and your sections have been designated as PTP Gradebook – you will see a PowerTeacherPro link in blue at the top of the Navigational bar on the left OR beneath each of your Current Classes.

PowerTeacher > PowerTeacher Pro Data Migration Current-year data will be migrated from PowerTeacher Gradebook to PowerTeacher Pro. PowerTeacher > PowerTeacher Pro
PTP Known Issue: Co Teacher When a Co-Teacher logs into PTP prior to the Lead Teacher, they will be unable to create an assignments Workaround: Lead teacher logs into PTP initially enter notes DAH!
PTP Known Issue: Grade Scale GRADE SCALE ERROR will occur if your scale does not have a 0 cutoff defined. enter notes Remedy: Log into Admin Portal- navigate District>Grade Scale Page-Create a single grade option that has 0% and the Caution icon goes away
ReportWorks: Standards Report Card KNOWN ISSUE: One key thing to note before transitioning sections to PowerTeacher Pro for schools using ReportWorks standards-based report cards: "Standards ReportWorks reports don’t pull data from PTP [Trainer note: Currently there is a new choice added to System > ReportWorks Administration > Grades Data Set. Check the option to enable and/or refresh for the reporting data to be correct. In ReportWorks, select Standards Report Card from the list of template reports. After setting up the parameters for running the report for the school, grades, and reporting terms you desire, publish the report. Once published, run the report from PowerSchool’s ReportWorks report option.] Workaround: An object report can be created using the standards object.” This is not necessarily a quick fix!
NUMERIC SCALES – RANGE & INCLUDE
AUTO GENERATE THE TABLE
CAN BE USED FOR EITHER FINAL GRADES AND/OR ASSIGNMENT CODES BY SELECTING VARIOUS OPTIONS
District-Level Grading Preferences Configure grading preferences and calculations for multiple schools to provide grading consistency throughout the district Save teachers from having to set up the preferences in the gradebook for each section they teach District categories with the same name will ALWAYS over-ride a teacher level category CHECK ALL EXISTING GRADE SCALES that were created in PS 9 after upgrade
PowerTeacher Pro Settings: District District > PowerTeacher Pro Settings
Default Gradebook Type: New Sections At the district level, set PowerTeacher Pro as the default gradebook for new course sections. PowerTeacher Pro Settings > Default Gradebook Type PowerSource has some great resources
District Teacher Categories Set up assignment categories, such as Test and Project, for a selection of schools to provide grading consistency. District > PowerTeacher Pro Settings > District Categories for Teachers > Add PowerSource has some great resources
Can teachers change to PTP mid-year? Yes. If a section is switched to PowerTeacher Pro mid-year, the scores from PowerTeacher Gradebook will be transferred to PowerTeacher Pro the next time the teacher signs in. If sections are switched back to PowerTeacher Gradebook after using PowerTeacher Pro, any data entered in PowerTeacher Pro will NOT be transferred back to PowerTeacher Gradebook.
How do I copy my assignments from last year to my sections in PowerTeacher Pro? PowerTeacher Pro does not yet have the copy assignment feature. However, you can use the following workaround: Before switching to PowerTeacher Pro, open PowerTeacher Gradebook and copy your assignments from last year to this year's sections. Have the PowerSchool administrator switch the sections to PowerTeacher Pro. Assignment data will migrate to PowerTeacher Pro. This feature is on the development roadmap for a future release. PTP 10.1.1 Copy Assignment!!
Can teachers use the PowerTeacher Mobile app with PowerTeacher Pro? No. The PowerTeacher Mobile app can only be used in conjunction with PowerTeacher Gradebook. PowerTeacher Pro is designed to work with all mobile devices supporting a screen resolution of at least 1024x768. Smaller resolutions are supported but may not provide the optimal user experience. Don’t worry about NO for Mobile Apps as it works with any browser on any device ALSO – The Parent Access through the portal as they are accessing Quicklookup.html
Does PTP allow a comment bank? YES BUT Teachers’ personal comment back from PTG are not available at this time
