Discuss Readings Why should libraries be involved with STEM learning? How can libraries encourage STEM learning?

STEM Programming in Libraries Mie-Mie Wu Children’s Librarian Bothell Library – KCLS

Reflection Questions Think of one idea from the readings, the presentations, and/or discussions. How can you promote libraries and museums as natural partners in your future role as a youth librarian? How might you use storytelling, poetry, and literature in STEM programming? Why should we as librarians help to make connections between stories and STEM?

Final Week At-home responsibilities Read your group’s proposals and take notes to bring to class for the workshops Prepare a 2-minute lightning talk on your proposal You have the option to use 1 slide – submit it by Thursday at 9AM In class Lightning Talks Strictly limited to 2 minutes Online will go first and then residential. Online students only need to use audio. Workshops Have notes ready about the proposals in your group. You will have one hour to share ideas and workshop your proposals. You will share out and give other groups broad feedback. Surprise event! Wrap-up, feedback, takeaways, etc.
