ONTARIO DISTRICT LEADERSHIP ACADEMY 2017 Leaders are change agents “Change is the essential process of all existence” Mr. Spock from Star Trek.

Quote to Society Board J. R. Digger MacDougall; 2002 There is no future without progress, there is no progress without change; there is no change without leadership; and, there is no leadership without individuals like you. You are the leaders of your chapters; you are change agents; you are purveyors of progress and you are the architects of the future of your respective chapters… Do not disappoint those that have put their trust in you to lead them. In Memory of CHARLES H. BELZILE 12/23/2016, 7:52 PM   Hi Digger Many thanks for your donation in memory of Charlie. He would be very appreciative as singing and music played a large part in his activities while he lived with dementia. There was a wonderful program called" Minds in Song" which we participated in for four sessions and he was particularly fond of singing. One day in the car as we were driving to our singing session he started to sing along with the radio. Someone was singing La Vie en Rose. He sang the whole song, all the words and I was totally blown away. This was not one of our songs from our program and I had never heard him sing it before but it was buried somewhere in his subconscious. I put in on my IPod and he sang it several times again -once while waiting for a bed in the emerg at the Civic. Music had a very soothing effect on him when he would start to get agitated. A friend made three CD's of music for him and when he was receiving palliative care we had music playing all the time-some classical and some CD's made by our friend. So your donation to an organization which promoted music was a very appropriate charity. Thank you very much. Janet
