False Evidence Appearing Real You are NOT alone! What is fear? You have a lot of company if you feel fearful about delivering a public presentation. What is fear? False Evidence Appearing Real

What if someone asks a question I’m unprepared for? Reality Checks What if someone in the audience is rude or distracting? Embrace all irrational beliefs. Ask yourself, “Is there tangible evidence to support my fear?” Dredge up each of your fears, then deflate each one: What if I do something embarrassing? What if I forget my material? What if my equipment malfunctions? What if I lose or bore the audience? What if people can see that I’m nervous?

Fear-Reducing Strategies that Help or Claim To Help Accept that you always may feel some fear. Prepare, prepare, prepare and practice, practice, practice. Deep breathing. Picturing the audience in their underwear. Visualization Cognitive reciting

More Tips “We wouldn’t care what other people thought about us if we only knew how little they did.” Arrive early and meet people Beware uncomfortable clothing! Shake off energy through movement Take a moment for yourself before beginning. Never, ever apologize for nervousness.
