How are we supporting students to prepare for SATs? Rigorous assessment of both daily in-class work, and formally assessed work (writing, reading and SPaG) English and maths intervention/ booster groups – reviewed half-termly Morning reading groups Lexia phonics support (where needed) Mock SATs weeks – confidence with timetable for May and processes English and maths weekly drop-in Morning MyMaths groups Grammar Hammer Whole-school initiatives for presentation and literacy Use of English and maths focused starters in all lessons Form time English and maths focused activities/ challenges

Supporting your child Thank you for coming along this evening. All children are invited to our breakfast club in SATs week. Preparation should be little and often. Revision materials, CGP booklets, revision websites. Work space. A “can do” attitude. Rest and relaxation are important too. Early nights for everyone, particularly in the week of the tests.
