Example: Out of all of the characters in the play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, the Nurse should have been pardoned. One of the reasons the nurse should have been pardoned was because she knew Juliet for such a long time and only had her best interest at heart. An example from the play where she had Juliet’s best interest was when, “…......” (Shakespeare page). Another reason why the nurse should have been pardoned is because she was not even a part of the Capulat family. The Nurse was only there to help nurse Juliet when she was a baby, but then she was asked to stay to help raise her. In the play the nurse states, “........” (Shakespeare page). The final reason why the Nurse should have been pardoned is because she kept Juliet’s secrets safe throughout the play. The Nurse was one of the only two people who knew what truly happened between Romeo and Juliet, and she made sure to keep Juliet’s secret, even when she knew it would harm Juliet. In the play, the Nurse says, “…....” (Shakespeare page). Some could argue that the Nurse should be punished because she encouraged the relationship between Romeo and Juliet, however, what people fail to realize is that the Nurse the most trustworthy and level-headed person in the whole play. All in all, through all the characters in the play, the Nurse is the character who should have been pardoned.
