Secretary of state Matt Schultz Michael Mauro By Jack Hamborg By Andy Thompson On Wednesday you will all be participating in something called a mock election where you get to vote for the candidate that you want to win in a particular position. Andy and I are here to talk to you about the Secretary of State nominees, democrat, Michael Mauro, and republican Matt Shultz. The secretary of state position is all about making things easier for the people. Mainly in city and state voting or elections.

Got national attention Iowa ranked 1st in easing voting overseas. He is also the incumbent. Matt Schultz brings jobs to Iowa using advanced technology Matt Schultz thinks this will create job openings Wants everyone in Iowa to have a job Feels that Michael Mauro is tearing the Secretary of State position apart. StopMauro.Com Plans to make voting easier Plans to make Iowa health conscious. Matt Schultz makes voting freedom more “fair” Free Voting ID Required Photo ID Jack: Michael Mauro’s main plan is to make elections run more smoothly. He is the incumbent and is now working hard to make polling stations handicap accessible. He is also working a lot in the technology field, like making online businesses better so even when your employees are sick they can still work from home. He is also trying to save taxpayers money on stuff like technology. Michael Mauro recently got national attention because Iowa ranked 1st in a national poll on easing overseas voting for people who are in the military or people who live in the U.S but are currently overseas. Andy: Matt Schultz thinks that he will be able to make job openings more frequent. Using advanced technology to make machines, they can make jobs run smoother. He also plans to let everyone in Iowa to have a chance to get a job. He thinks that Michael Mauro is tearing the Secretary of state position apart. He wants to make voting easier by forcing you to show some sort of photo ID before you vote.

Matt Schultz Family and Life Michael Mauro Michael Mauro is a Drake graduate. He was a former high school government teacher and coach. He served as Polk County Auditor for 9 years. He was elected secretary of state in 2003. He has been married for 35 years and has 3 children and 5 grand children. Matt Schultz has five people in his family A wife (Zola Schultz) Two sons (Levi and Hyrum) One daughter (Kendra) Michael Mauro graduated from Drake University. He was a former High School government teacher and a coach. He served as the Polk county auditor for 9 years. In 2003 he was elected Iowa’s Secretary of State. Michael Mauro has been married for 35 years and has 3 children and 5 grand children. Matt Schultz has five people in his family: Zola Schultz (the wife) Levi and Hyrum (the two sons) and a daughter named Kendra.
