Winter War By: Aspen & Tasha

Thesis Russia's pyrrhic victory over the Finnish in the Winter War brought devastating losses to the Red Army as the weaknesses of Russia were exposed.

Winter War Timeline- October 5th 1939: Finns invited to talks in Moscow October 25th1939: Russia rejected Finland’s counter-proposals. November 9th 1939: Finns finally reject Russia’s demands November 13th1939: Russia decided on war with Finland November 30th 1939: Russia invaded Finland November 30th to December 27th 1939: Finland held up the Russian attack war started December 14th 1939 : Russia expelled from the League of Nations February 1st 1940: Major Russian offensive began February 5th1940: the Allies agreed on a plan to aid the Finns March 5th 1940: Finns decide to accept Russian peace terms as a basis for negotiations March 13th 1940: Treaty of Moscow ends the war
