Presentation transcript:

ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR ANDY WITTIG • Create 5 images that show your ability to use and design different pieces in Illustrator. • Research and dedicate a slide to a famous logo designer History and try to replicate one of their logos. • Create a PowerPoint documenting tools and process of making the image.

TOOLS (MERGE and KNIFE) As an extension from the eraser tool, the knife tool let me cut and slice shapes into different pieces Using the merge tool I could “mold” two shapes together

The type tool let me add text to transform into typography art. TOOLS (PEN and TYPE) The type tool let me add text to transform into typography art. Using the pen tool I drew paths and shapes that was line work for my designs.

TOOLS (Color and Stroke) The stroke color tool let me define the outline of a shape. Using the fill color tool I could adjust the colors in my shapes and figures.

IMAGE #1 (BASICS) For the first image I practiced using the basic tools to create 5 simple text logo designs. The 2nd has some drawn in lines and the 3rd uses meshes.

IMAGE #2 (LOGO) Using vectors and shapes I designed a simple logo for a pizza restaurant or company.

HISTORY (TYPOGRAPHY) In the thirteenth century was used in tiles until later on in the fifteenth century, Johannes Gutenberg invented metal movable type. Nowadays typography is used to draw attention to advertisements by using color, images, and shapes to entice. Typography can very effectively convey emotions and moods so it’s a very powerful art.

IMAGE #3 (TYPOGRAPHY) Using meshes and text I manipulated to conform to the Nevada state boundaries to create a typography design.

LINDON LEADER Lindon Leader was the creator of the award winning FedEx logo. He created it by combining two different fonts together. The FedEx logo below has a hidden design choice which hides an arrow between the E and X. Which works so well because FedEx is a shipping company.

FOUR C’S CREATIVITY: I had to be creative in constructing and designing my logos and work. Specifically trying to keep things simple and clean. COMMUNTICATION: I had to communicate with the teacher when I needed help on certain aspects. I had Mrs. Pruitt help on deciding my engagement. COLLABORATION: I had to move my workspace to let other groups use the computer programs they needed. CRITICAL THINKING: When I didn’t know how to use parts of illustrator I looked them up online, for example creating meshes.

CONCLUSION I learned how to create logos, typography, and vector art for any uses like prints. I would recommend for anyone trying this engagement Is to research and puts lots of time into learning how illustrator works and functions.
