Project Scope Learn the importance of the control system of chemical processes Setup a PLC (Programmable logic controller)-based control system Hardware list, price quotation, system setup Software list, price quotation, installation and setup development environment Design the control strategy and alarm system of a virtual chemical process Develop the HMI (Human Machine Interface) code and PLC code for the control system Need 3-4 Students

Why the Project is Important? The PLC-HMI systems are widely applied in the chemical industry. Almost every process has a PLC-based control system. Being familiar with such system in undergraduate study will make the students well prepared for the senior Process Control course and future job marketing.
