No longer a size limitation There is no longer a limit on the number of signs allowed to display per property. Political signs are not permitted to be displayed on governmental, parkland, school district or other public property, except on Election Day. No longer a time limitation on how long political signs may be displayed.

Billboard Signage Existing & Proposed Billboard style signage is not permitted within the current zoning ordinance. Billboards are listed as a permitted use within the {BC} Business Center District only. A property must be a minimum of 10 acres in size to have a billboard. A property must have a minimum of 200 feet of street frontage to have a billboard and a right-of-way width of at least 80 feet. No more than 1 billboard per property is permitted. A billboard must be at least 40 feet from all property lines. Billboards are limited to no greater than 30 feet in height. All billboards are to be a minimum of 200 feet from all districts permitting residential uses.

Administration & Permits Cleaned up the language to reflect the permit review process as it is completed today. Example DEP, Storm Water Management, FEMA & the like. Cleaned up the inspection requirements to reflect all of the additional inspections required to develop a site in 2017. Removed the repetitive language throughout the section. Added requirements for Conditional Use Review to bring Abington Township into compliance with the MPC. Added additional criteria for Conditional Use Review by the BOC. Created links to the requirements with the Subdivision & Land Development Ordinance. Created separate definitions within the Non-Conforming Section 1900. Provided greater detail to the Zoning Hearing Board in the review of applications.

Administration & Permits Added in an entire section for on-site Storm Water Management Permits. Reduced the overlapping duties between the Code Enforcement Department and the Township Engineering Department. Added language to the Use & Occupancy Section to allow for Temporary Use & Occupancy Certificates in order to comply with the requirements of the current Building Code. Added to the additional duties to the Zoning Officer as spelled out the revised Flood Plain Ordinance adopted in September of 2016.
