What to Know About Anorexia How Anorexia Nervosa Harms Health Teens with anorexia may have: • dehydration and constipation, abdominal pain and nausea, hormonal changes, damage to body organs, decrease in heart rate and blood pressure, Develop lanugo fine hair • impaired immune system function, absence of menstruation in females, infertility hair loss and malnutrition, negative self-confidence, a lack of self-respect, depression and an urge to withdraw.

Problems Caused by Bulimia nervosa and binge eating Disorders Inflamed and sore throat Swollen salivary glands Sensitive and decaying teeth Intestinal problems Severe dehydration Electrolyte imbalance Acid reflux disorder is acid containing chyme moves from stomach into esophagus. Laxatives used to aid in bowel movements Hypoglycemia a deficiency of sugar in the blood because insulin is released and lowers blood sugar levels.

Mortality 4-6% of people with eating disorders die. Most of these deaths are a result of heart failure, organ failure, or suicide.
