Appeasement What does it mean to appease. Examples A teacher cancels a test to appease her students. A mother appeasing a crying toddler. Write your own example.

Vocabulary Appeasement: policy of giving in to an aggressor's demands in order to keep the peace. Sanctions: a penalty. Often a ban on trade or armaments. Pacifism: opposition to war or violence.

Reggae is Rooted in HISTORY! Tafari Makonnen became emperor of Ehtiopia in 1930. Ras: prince, duke or chief Then he took the name Haile Selassie I. The only African monarch of a fully independent state.

Haile Selassie and Appeasement 1935 Mussolini invaded Ethiopia…Selassie was exiled. Haile Selassie made a powerful speech before the League of Nations in Geneva. Britain and France appeased Italy and allowed them to stay in Ethiopia.

After the war Selassie was returned to power. He is believed to be the living incarnate of JAH (God). Calling yourself Rastafari expresses the personal relationship each Rasta has with Selassie.
