Making Diary of Making

DIARY OF MAKING INSTRUCTIONS This is the page of your evaluation section where you can explain and show how you made the product in your manufacturing stage.   1. You don’t have to keep the text in the same place you can move it around and change the fonts and make the page personal to you. But just remember to keep the same theme throughout the pages. 2. You should have taken pictures at key points of the making process to show how and what processes and tools you have used to make it and to show your product at varying stages of build. It doesn't need to be a super detailed step by step, but should have enough information to show you were responsible for the work and that it was all of your own ability. 3. You could use screen shots or print outs of CAD drawings for the laser cutter to help. 4. Pictures need to be accompanied with text explaining what and how you did things.

Making Finished Product

But just remember to keep the same theme throughout the pages. 2. You should have a selection of images that have been well taken in good conditions with a good back ground that shows off what you have made. It should include more than 1 picture and show the product from various angles. 3. It would be best not to highlight major mistakes in pictures and use careful placement to not draw attention to imperfections. 4. No text is required just clear images

Evaluation Testing the product

TESTING THE PRODUCT INSTRUCTIONS This is the page of your evaluation section where you can start to show off your product. .   1. You don’t have to keep the text in the same place you can move it around and change the fonts and make the page personal to you. But just remember to keep the same theme throughout the pages. 2. You need to take lots of pictures of you and other people using the product, testing both the functionality and it being used in its chosen place i.e. if it was designed for a bedroom, pictures of it being used in that place are key. Not only do you need pictures but they need to be annotated and explained showing what and how you are testing. You need to explain what the testing has shown up. These points can then be discussed in the modifications section.

But just remember to keep the same theme throughout the pages. 2. In the first column you need to write each one of your specification points into a separate box. You will then use the table to show how you will test and check that you have me each point. 3. In the next column you need to either tick and cross/ red and green/ yes and no etc each point appropriately if you did or di not make it. 4. For each column after that you then need to answer the question at the top. E.g. how did you meet it—give clear examples, more than one if possible. If there are any boxes you cant answer just meave them blank or grey them out.

Testing and evaluating Current Modifications FUTURE MODIFICATIONS ADAPTION FOR MANUFACTURE

MODIFICATIONS INSTRUCTIONS This is the Modifications page of your Evaluation section where you can explain your project and the final build. 1. You don’t have to keep the text in the same place you can move it around and change the fonts and make the page personal to you. But just remember to keep the same theme throughout the pages. 2. In the current modifications section you need to explain and document all the changes you made between the final design and final product. Use pictures and writing to explain what you changed while you made it. Why you had to change it, did the changes work, has it made the product better or worse 3. In the future modifications section you need to identify what changes you would make to improve the product further if you made it again or just wanted to improve on it. The best way is with sketches and text. Do a drawing or 2 to show what the new version would look like. Or use a picture of your finished product and draw over it or label it to show the improvements. 4. Adaption for manufacture is where you can explain how the product would need to be modified in order for it to be mass produced. What techniques could be used to make it in large numbers.  

Testing and evaluating Peer Evaluation Personal Evaluation

PEER & SELF EVALUATION INSTRUCTIONS This is the final page of your Evaluation section where you can discuss and explain your product. .   1. You don’t have to keep the text in the same place you can move it around and change the fonts and make the page personal to you. But just remember to keep the same theme throughout the pages. 2. Peer evaluation is where you collate the feedback of other people, you can do this in different ways, you could conduct several interviews have a picture of the person reviewing your product and write down the feedback they give, including what they like and dislike, what improvements they recommend etc. Alternatively you could complete the task using a survey and show the results in this section of what people said. 3. In the self evaluation is your opportunity to discuss and explain your product and project. You need to discuss what you made, how you made it, what problems and issues you had, how you overcame them, what you like and dislike about the project, changes you would make, alternative methods of manufacturing you would use. What you might do differently. You need to include a detailed and analytical feedback. A descriptive only feedback will get less marks.
