What is the School Games Mark? The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of school sport and competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels of the Mark. Final slide

Self Assessment application form – assessed at Bronze, Silver, Gold Benefits to you and the school – Ofsted use the Mark as part of their assessment framework You can use the Mark Logo on communication, social media to show your schools commitment to developing/ quality school sport. You can use the information as a development tool. Final slide

To complete your application visit: www.yourschoolgames.com You will need a log on and password – please ask your SGO for a new one. Final slide

What you will need to complete your application form: Evidence of participation ( numbers) in extra curricular activities Evidence of leadership participation Evidence of how many level 1 and level 2 School Games competitions you have entered ( see SGO if unsure) Evidence of community links e.g. with Clubs/ coaches Evidence that staff have attended workplace training and development Evidence that you promote your School Games activities within schools and the local community. Application takes 30 minutes if you have all information to hand. Once completed your SGO ( West schools – Dan, East school Linsey) will verify the application as correct. Mark lasts for one year. You will get support from SGO’s including a development plan to work towards over the year to try and increase your Mark accreditation for the following year. Final slide
