Saturday: Psalm 149

1 Hallelujah. Sing to the Lord a new song; 1 Hallelujah! Sing to the Lord a new song; * sing praise to God in the congregation of the faithful.

2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; 2 Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; * let the children of Zion be joyful in their Sovereign.

3 Let them praise God's name in the dance; 3 Let them praise God's name in the dance; * let them sing praise to the Lord with timbrel and harp.

4 For the Lord takes pleasure in the chosen people 4 For the Lord takes pleasure in the chosen people * and adorns the poor with victory.

5 Let the faithful rejoice in triumph; 5 Let the faithful rejoice in triumph; * let them be joyful on their beds.

6 Let the praises of God be in their throat 6 Let the praises of God be in their throat * and a two-edged sword in their hand;

7 to wreak vengeance on the nations * and punishment on the peoples;

8 to bind their rulers in chains * and their nobles with links of iron;

9 to inflict on them the judgment decreed; 9 to inflict on them the judgment decreed; * this is glory for all God's faithful people. Hallelujah!

God our Maker, you crown the humble with honor and exalt the faithful who gather in your name.

Because you have favored us with life, we dance before you in our joy and praise you with unending song for Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
