Directors.

The History. Didaskalos. The greek word Didaskalos, it means Teacher. They called Directors this. In the earliest days of theater directing was a form of teaching. The Teacher Director reached its pinnacle the late enlightenment and Victorian eras.

Realistic Director. George the second, the duke of saxe-Meiningen was the first realistic Director and is regarded as the first modern Director. These type of Directors fostered the realist and naturalist drama but also opened the theater to infinite psychological interpretation

The contemporary Director The Renaissance has arrived bringing with it the age of the director. The directorial function is fully established as the art of synthesizing scripts, design, and performance into a unique event. The most famous being Shakesphere.

The Job of the Director Play selection or script selection. Conceptualizing. Casting. Can also be left up to the casting Director. Making the play happen or implementation. Actor coaching.

Jobs continued Vocal coach. Is a music teacher who instructs and directs singers on how improve their singing. They have to check with the Director to make sure that what they are doing gets approved. Choreographer. A person who creates and composes dances for the actors to perform. They are used mostly in ballets and dance performances. They have to get the dances all approved by the Director.

Casting Director. They Do the auditions and select the cast for the performance. They have to make sure if there is a couple in the play they look good together, have chemistry, can they handle the lines they have been given and make the relationship feel real for the audience
