Weebly Websites for the Classroom: Build One Now Objectives: 1) Participants will view Sauer's website to realize possibilities and capabilities of weebly websites. 2) Participants will access the Weebly server and develop a classroom website or digital hub. 3) Participants will practice using basic, structure, and media elements of website design. 4) Participants will explore the dashboard and will practice uploading files, documents, and videos.

Warm-up Go to http://sauerwms.weebly.com Click on "More" to pull down menu and click the "SUHSD Summer Tech 2016" Follow directions and click the bit.ly/ tech-signin button. Sign in.

Please go to the padlet on the bottom left hand side of the page, introduce yourself, and explain what you are interested in gaining from this workshop. Agenda: Sign in (5 min.) Introduction and reasons for taking workshop (10 min.) Explore Sauer's site sauerwms.weebly.com (Focus) (20 min.) Overview of Website development (Vocabulary) (25 min.) Themes Pages Elements Sign up and Develop Website (Guided Practice) (2 hrs)

Design Elements To develop your website, you will use three sections of the dashboard. These include "Themes" where you will find your template and basic design; "Pages" where you will set up the different pages for your site; and "Build" where you organize and design the elements that you want to put on your pages. There are many themes. Be careful to consider how you might want to layout your site, before picking a theme. When switching themes, one loses content. These elements to the right are found in the "Build" section of the dashboard.

To develop your website To start, go to www.weebly.com or https://education.weebly.com/ Weebly for Education will also allow you to add students as website designers. http://eduvsauer.weebly.com Sign up with facebook, google +, or email. Choose a theme. Choose a website domain (ex: sauersuhsd) https://education.weebly.com/weebly/main.php http://ibuildwms.weebly.com/#/news/
