DEFINITION OF EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY (EDTECH) “…The study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technological processes and resources."

FOCUS The focus of educational technology is to improve and to enhance human learning

SCOPE School system Training Vocational

EDTECH TOOLS ADDIE Approach CYCLICAL MODEL ASSURE MODELS The systematic design of instruction (Walter Dick, et.al, 2015) ASSURE MODELS (Heinich , et. al, 2005) The ARCS motivational design of instruction (Keller, 2006) ADDIE Approach (Branch, 2009) CYCLICAL MODEL (Kemp and Morrison, 2009),

The evaluation phase consists of two parts: formative and summative. ‘’ADDIE“ APPROACH Evaluation The evaluation phase consists of two parts: formative and summative. Analysis In this phase, instructional problem is clarified, the instructional goals and objectives are established and the learning environment and learner's existing knowledge and skills are identified. Design The design phase deals with learning objectives, assessment instruments, exercises, content, subject matter analysis, lesson planning and media selection. Implementation This is the phase where the project manager ensures that the books, hands on equipment, tools, CD-ROMs and software are in place, and that the learning application or Web site is functional. Development The development phase is where the developers create and assemble the content assets that were created in the design phase.

“ADDIE” Approach” Analysis Need analysis Design Make program specification Develop Learning materials Implement Use the program and materials Evaluate Assess the program

MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY AS THE DELIVERY SYSTEM Traditional media printed, realia, model simulator, etc Digital media Video, audio, multimedia Virtual media Computer networks, website, OER

THE ESSENCE OF USING MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY “ the use of media and technology must engage students in learning activities to make them absorb the knowledge, skills and attitude.”

INTERACTIONS METHODS AND STRATEGY CONTENT TO BE LEARNED MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS LEARNINGRESULTS METHODS AND STRATEGY CONTENT TO BE LEARNED

INSTRUCTIONAL STRATEGY The appropriate instructional strategy should be designed to facilitate students to achieve instructional objectives
