WHY CHOOSE THE JANE JENNINGS HAIR ACADEMY The JJ’s Hair Group, over the years, has produced some of the most talented young hairdressers in Swindon, won many awards for it's training and is extremely proud of it's success to date. In 2017 we became a VTCT approved training centre which allowed us to expand our training beyond apprenticeships and offer the same opportunity to the general public. Learn how to be a hairdresser within a 5 star, well established and reputable hair salon. We offer a unique 1:1 training program that is tailored to fit around your lifestyle (choose your own hours within our salon opening hours)

Academy Manager: Carly Embling Carly was trained by Jane in 1996 and has been training hairdressers for over 10 years.

COURSE CONTENT Your course will consist of a maximum of 12 hours per week, over 10 months and will be broken down into the following; Workshop Session - 2 hours These sessions will involve theory input, video tutorials and demonstrations from your tutor. This session will include a periodical tutorial. (Blended Learning: Contact) Salon Session - 4 hours These sessions will be practical sessions with your tutor; working on your training head and on paying customers (Blended Learning: Contact/Assessment) Salon Experience - 3 hours These sessions are vital to the JJ’s learning experience and will involve you assisting and supporting on our salon floor as part of our team (Blended Learning: Contact/Self directed) Self Study - 3 hours These sessions are for you to complete the mandatory assignments for each unit (Blended Learning: Self directed/Assessment) We also recommend that you spend at least 3 hours per week practicing your practical skills (Blended Learning: Self directed) (please note that these hours can be tailored to your own suitability within our salon opening hours) YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE MODELS FOR ALL PRACTICE & ASSESSMENTS THROUGHOUT YOUR COURSE. A CHARGE WILL BE MADE FOR ASSESSMENT SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

Level 3 Qualification Breakdown 7 Practical Units 7 Assignments 5 Exams Total of 77 credits and 684 guided learning hours

7 PRACTICAL UNITS Provide client consultation services – 8 credits/68 GLH Creatively style & dress hair – 7 credits/60 GLH Creatively cut hair using a combination of techniques – 14 credits/121 GLH Creatively colour & lighten hair – 14 credits/121 GLH Hair colour correction services – 15 credits/137 GLH Cut men's hairstyles – 6 credits/60 GLH Fulfil salon reception duties – 6 credits/47 GLH

7 ASSIGNMENTS There is an assignment to accompany each practical unit These assignments are evidence of theory knowledge that support practical skills These assignments will be discussed during your workshop sessions and then completed within your self study hours All assignments are fully supported by your tutor

5 EXAMS The exams for Level 3 are as follows: Provide client consultation services Creatively colour & lighten hair (x2) Hair colour correction services (x2) All exams are multiple choice, online and held in a controlled environment within our Academy

Course Fee £2995 (PAYMENT PLAN AVAILABLE) A discount of £500 is available to all those that have completed their Level 2 within our academy This includes: Full and recognised qualification; NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing Lifetime registration to VTCT (awarding body) Habia approved level 2/3 hairdressing kit (where needed for level 3) Personal access to “Salonability” (recommended online learning resource) Bespoke training program to fit around your lifestyle 1:1 training and support from experienced hairstylists and tutors Experience within a 5 star, well established and reputable hair salon Course fee is inclusive of VAT. Please note that full qualification and course fee apply when following training schedule set by The Jane Jennings Hair Academy. Any deviation from this schedule may result in a part qualification and/or extra time charges. Any time taken over 10 months will incur an extra time charge of £150 per month.

APPLICATION (HOW TO APPLY AND WHAT HAPPENS NEXT) If you are interested in applying for an NVQ level 2 or 3 hairdressing course at The Jane Jennings Hair Academy, or would like further information, please contact Carly at thejanejenningshairacademy@outlook.com or call 01793 611558 An interview will be arranged to clarify suitability, check prior learning and discuss payment & timetable options. Following a successful interview an individual contract, payment plan and timetable will be created. Registration to awarding body and online learning resource will then be completed and hairdressing kit ordered (where needed for Level 3) Please note that all Level 3 applicants that have acquired their Level 2 externally from The Jane Jennings Hair Academy will have to complete a successful trade test to be accepted onto the Level 3 programme. Level 2 has to have been acquired no earlier than 5 years prior to application of this course due to changing standards (exceptions can be made depending on experience and skill demonstration)
