What advancements made in Ancient Egypt are still relevant today? Warm Up What advancements made in Ancient Egypt are still relevant today? 2. State one example of how that advancement is relevant and plays a role in our society today?

Because of their advanced farming techniques, Egyptians had extra amounts of food. Think back to our unit on Mesopotamia. can anyone remember what an extra amount of food is called? (Turn and talk)

What did a surplus of food lead to?

More goods became available in villages along the Nile, and so they began to trade with one another. As Egyptian traders came in contact with these different villages, they started to trade more then just goods; what do you think they began to trade?

Answer- As As Egyptian traders came in contact with these different villages, they started to trade ways of life/culture/government

This lead to an increase in need for a government. (Why This lead to an increase in need for a government. (Why?) With an increase in farming and trade, small kingdoms began to form- and eventually Egypt divided into two kingdoms Upper and Lower Egypt
