Proud Koreans Theme 17 – October 2014

Introduction East Asia now includes Korea, China, and Japan. Many Koreans around the world – USA, Canada, Russia, and across Asia. Koreans all have one thing in common – Pride.

Ban Ki-Moon (반기문) Eigth and current Secretary-General of the United Nations He was a diplomat in Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Ban Ki-Moon (반기문) Reputation for being modest and competent. World’s 32nd most powerful person in 2013, the highest among Koreans. He is very respected for his world views.

Kim Yuna (김연아) Kim Yuna is a former figure skater 2010 Olympic champion in Vancouver; 2014 silver medalist in Sochi First South Korean figure skater to win a gold medal medal at the Olympic Games

Kim Yuna (김연아) One of the most highly recognized athletes in South Korea. She is referred to as “Queen Yuna” by various media across the world.

PSY (박재상) Known in Korea for his humorous videos and stage performances. “Gangnam Style” became an international hit song. Ban Ki-Moon even expressed his desire to work with PSY because of his “unlimited global reach”.

PSY (박재상) PSY has successfully done what many Korean singers have tried and failed to do – become an international megastar (although unexpectedly!) He successfully and single-handedly spread the Hallyu Wave across the globe.
