Alternates for the week: Arts Express Week! On Tuesday, Mr. Nate, from The Walnut Street Theater, lead a workshop and taught us all about what it takes to be a good actor. We learned that actors have 3 tools with them at all times: body, voice, and imagination. We used a whiteboard marker to silently act out different objects in front of the class, that students then had to guess which object each student was pretending to use. Social Studies We went on a safari! We took a look at animals in Africa that live in the 3 vegetation zones: desert, rainforest, savannah. Students then wrote a fact about their favorite animal from each vegetation zone. Math This week we ended Chapter 15: Calendar & Time. We continued practicing telling time to the hour and half hour. We reviewed how to read a calendar as well. Please practice reading a clock with your child at home!
