Addiction to Drinking Sometimes it is okay to have the occasional drink, but if you have too much alcohol you could get addicted. It is easy to get addicted to drinking because neurotransmitters are signals that serve as messengers between nerve cells and carriers of the nerve impulse. Dopamine is a type of neurotransmitter that controls the brain’s pleasure center, whereas Glutamate is also a type of neurotransmitter but it controls the central nervous system. The more you consume alcohol, the more dopamine is released from your system. Also the more alcohol you drink, the more you're glutamate increases, resulting in making you calmer. This is because when dopamine is released, it shuts down your feelings and the glutamate increases taking over making you calmer.

Some strategies to quit alcohol -Choose one or two days in a week to not drink alcohol and increase the days every week until you don’t drink for a week. Think about how you feel when you stopped -avoid triggers (what makes to drink alcohol.) - Going to support groups

Prohibition Prohibition is when the government tries to stop the selling, transportation and importation of a certain drug or alcohol. The government will ban it and if they catch you with it, you could get in a lot of trouble. They tried this in the U.S.A in 1920-1923 with banning alcohol and drinking.

Support Groups Support groups can always help you to go into rehab and to quit drinking, they are a great way that can help you to stop drinking. The support groups you can go to can change your life, if you do not feel comfortable going to a support group you can always tell a very close friend or family member about your addiction.

Talking to someone about drinking Use blocks of time such as after dinner, before bedtime, before school or on the drive to or from school and extracurricular activities to talk about drinking and why they’re harmful. Don't try to talk when your friend is drunk or high; it's too difficult to take in what you're saying, and the situation could turn out badly. Get more people that the person knows and loves and convince all of them to talk to the person about drinking and why he/she should stop.

Why people start drinking Some of the reasons people start to drink is because of peer pressure from friends or sometimes family. There are plenty of other reasons people start to drink such as, relaxing themselves, and also some say it is easier for them to solve problems but if you drink too much, you could become an alcoholic.

Alcoholics An alcoholic is someone who becomes addicted to drinking alcohol. Drinking too much alcoholic can be a result in becoming drunk. When you are drunk it means you have drinkin too much and it has affected your behaviour. It is very dangerous to drive drunk. Sometimes this can cause a bad accident and it could put someone or your own life at risk. Stay safe and take a cab.

The effects of drinking and smoking. The effects from drinking are; The heart; Heavy drinking can mess with the rhythm of your heart or even damage the heart muscle. Slurred Speech; Usually when a person is drunk it is the first signs of being drunk Stomach distress; bloating, gas, and ulcers could be the result of too much alcohol and many more major things can happen to your body just because of a drink.

Cost Every year the average person can spend up to $1000 a year on wine. The liquor stores must be in a good business because at this rate they probably have a lot of money. You can always have the occasional drink but if you are spending more than $1000 a year on these beverages, you may have to think about how to stop buying as much. This money can be used to be spent on something better, that could be used for charity or something like a child living in poverty.

Why we Chose Video 1 We chose it to show what happens when you drink alcohol and how you can get addicted. It also shows why alcohol is addicting and why we can become alcoholics.

Why we chose video 2 We chose video 2 because we wanted to show what would happen to your loved ones when they found out you died from drinking and driving. This is really sad because when someone passes away in your family it can be very hard.
