PigCHAMP Care 3000 Action Lists

What is an “Action List”? “Task List” or “Schedule” of upcoming events Indicates what animals will be requiring some kind of attention in the selected time period Generates a list of animals for the “next” week (usually)

Care 3000 Action Lists Gilt Pool Heat Check List Litter Reconciliation Mating List Open Sow List Pregnancy Check List Sows Due for Attention Sows Due to Farrow Sows Due to be Served Sows Due to be Weaned Warning List

Gilt Pool Similar to Gilts Entered but Not Served in DOS Provides a list of un-bred, parity zero females in the herd on the reporting date. Groups gilts into two sections based on user-defined acclimatization period and overdue for service days: Available for Service In Isolation period

When to Use the Gilt Pool: To see which gilts are not bred by a specified # of days from date of entry To view the availability of gilts in the herd to replace sows leaving the herd

Gilt Pool Properties

Gilt Pool Report Report includes: Identity Genetics Number of Heat Checks Gilt Age in Days Barn-Room-Pen Number of Days in Herd

Gilt Pool Filters Arrived Days in Herd Genetics Gilt Age (Days) Herd Category Identity Location (Barn-Room-Pen) Number of Gilt Heat Detections

Litter Reconciliation Lists individual sows that had a complete weaning event in the specified time frame Displays the reconciliation between the number that was weaned and the number farrowed, fostered, and died Helps maintain the integrity of the litter information and piglet inventory

When to Use Litter Reconciliation: To verify that litters are balancing to zero piglets remaining at the time of weaning To monitor the data collection process in the barns. To recognize piglet deaths that are not being recorded or incorrect values being entered into the system.

Litter Reconciliation Properties

Litter Reconciliation Report Report Includes: Identity Genetics Parity Weaning Date Liveborn (Individual & Total) Piglet Losses (Individual & Total) Foster On (Individual & Total) Foster Off (Individual & Total) Total Weaned (Individual & Total) Litter Reconciliation (Individual & Total)

Litter Reconciliation Filters Complete Weaned Cycle Fosters Off Fosters On Genetics Herd Category Identity Litter Reconciliation Liveborn Nurse Sows Weaned Parity Piglet Losses Total Weaned

Litter Reconciliation Customization Full Customization Ideas: Alternate Identity Location

Litter Reconciliation Tech Notes 0 in the litter reconciliation column indicates the litter balanced to zero at the time of weaning A “negative” number in the litter reconciliation column indicates too many pigs were weaned A “positive” number in the litter reconciliation column indicates too few of pigs were weaned

Mating List Reveals the females that were mated in a seven-day period, based on the user-defined report end date The boar identity or semen batch number used in the mating breaks the report into the reporting groups Used to show info from previous week

When to Use the Mating List: Generate a list of matings that occurred in a seven day time period Used to monitor boar or semen batch usage Used to gather identities that were bred with certain boar or semen batch identities for re-breeding purposes, if there were problems with the boar or semen batch.

Mating List Properties

Mating List Report Report Includes: Boar/Semen Batch Identity Sow Identity Sow Genetics Parity Mating Date Service Number Mating Number Operator

Mating List Customization Full Customization Ideas: Alternate Identity Location Pregnancy Check Codes

Open Sow List Similar to Sows Found Not Pregnant in DOS Identifies females currently in a non-productive status Includes those that are not gestating or lactating Users are able to define the type of females to include in the report and may alter the reporting period

When to Use the Open Sow List: To plan the breeding schedule To monitor the Gilt Pool To monitor non-productive days To monitor repeat services or problem sows To select sows to culls from the herd

Open Sow List Properties

Open Sow List Report Report Includes: Identity Genetics Parity Days Open Service Number Barn-Room-Pen Status

Open Sow List Filters Barn-Room-Pen Cycle Days Open Genetics Herd Category Identity Parity Service Number Status

Open Sow List Customization Full Customization Ideas: Alternate ID Lifetime Averages or Totals Pregnancy Check Result (for repeats) Service Date (for repeats) Service Group

Open Sow List Technical Notes You can alter the “Open Type” by selecting which animals to include in the report on the Report Property screen This report can help producers understand if the open status is due to a parity problem, or possibly a breeding problem as the heat detection may not be up to par. Understanding the trends of the report can help determine which areas of productivity need to be addressed.

Pregnancy Check List Similar to Sows Served Requiring Pregnancy Tests in DOS Suggests which sows are due to be checked for pregnancy within the user-defined reporting period The user may adjust the number of days after service and the reporting period

When to Use the Preg Check List: To identify sows that have been bred “x” number of days that need to be evaluated for heat or effectiveness of the service

Preg Check List Properties

Preg Check List Report Report Includes: Identity Parity Genetics Barn-Room-Pen Service Number Matings in Service Service Group

Preg Check List Customization Full Customization Ideas: Alternate ID Boar/Semen Identities Input Lines (for data collection purposes)

Sows Due for Attention Similar to Pre-Farrow Action List in DOS Identifies all sows that need attention based on the user-defined report property options. This report will generate lists for things such as mating, pregnancy termination, induction, vaccination, etc.

When to Use Sows Due for Attention: Used to generate possible duties performed by management “x” days after a specific event Can be used as a vaccination list, visual check list, sow movement list, etc.

Sows Due for Attention Properties Event Options Include: Arrived Served Farrowed Weaned

Sows Due for Attention Report Report Includes: Identity Genetics Parity Barn-Room-Pen Status

Sows Due to Farrow Similar to Sows Due to Farrow in DOS Lists all sows that are due to farrow within the user-defined specifications

When to Use Sows Due to Farrow: Identify which sows are going to farrow on a weekly basis Can be used for data integrity purposes – any sow that is overdue for farrowing will show on the report. This list can be used to identify the reason for overdue – Was she a repeat sow? Was she removed from the herd? Once the reason has been identified, the proper data can be entered into her history.

Sows Due to Farrow Properties Do NOT backdate report! Even if animal has farrowed, it will still show on the report. To Exclude those that are no longer in-pig, uncheck Aborted and Preg Check Negative/Open/Heat Detected Gestation Length determines Due to Farrow Date Default is 17 weeks – can shorten report by unselecting specific weeks
