Free Health Checkup Camp & AIDS Awareness Program Bhagwati Steel Sales At M/s. Narindra Engg. Works & M/s. Knitwell Industries Pvt. Ltd., Ind. Area, Phase-II, Chandigarh on Tuesday, 19th February, 2013
We, M/s. Bhagwati Steel Sales Chandigarh have sponsored /organised a free health check-up camp cum AIDS Awareness program with 2 of its TATA Steelium Customers at Industrial Area, Phase-II Chandigarh on 19th February, 2013 at their premises. There was facility for free health check-up and free distribution of medicines. Facility of free HIV test was also arranged through State Aids Control Society. The activity started from the morning 9:30 am. The mobile van with HIV test facility from Chandigarh Administration reached on time with doctor & other staff and dedicated members of NGO M/s. Indian Public Health Organization – Chandigarh. Our team was ready at customer premise with banners, standies and other required material. The banner with TATA Steelium as well as TATA Astrum logo was placed at the customer premise. Standees displaying both the products were also kept at the camp. Mr. Pawan Mangla himself visited the customer works to motivate the workers so that they should come forward for HIV test. Fruits were given to workers as refreshment to increase their interest for HIV test. Mr. V. R. Swaminathan Sr. Manager Sales TATA Steel Chandigarh also visited the camp and motivated the staff and workers of customers to come forward for HIV test as well as free medical check up. Mr. Satish Kumar FP Associate also visited with Mr. Swaminathan.
Mr. Swaminathan stressed upon the need of good health among workers Mr. Swaminathan stressed upon the need of good health among workers. A healthy body & mind can only give best output. Due to our effort, the mark of 50 cases / tests was completed well before scheduled time which was appreciated by administration officials as well as NGO. The health camp was in operation under supervision of Dr. Amarjeet Singh Chug – MBBS MD who has served as Medical Officer in Punjab Government for 20 years. He has also served with NGO Helpage India Chandigarh and currently associated with IPHA. He examined the workers thoroughly and made prescription to which medicine was provided free of cost. Approx. 100 workers from both the customers benefited from this medical camp. The camp was followed by puppet show where workers were educated through different characters and acts on HIV / AIDS. The show focused on do & don’t to prevent the HIV through active participation of audience. The puppet show received an overwhelming response. The workers came in lots to watch the show. Both the customers extended their full support and thanked to organise such a good activity. The AIDS which is deadly disease need awareness among workers to prevent this from spreading.
