Abraham Lincoln 16th President of the United States. Right after his election the Southern states seceded from the Union.

Ulysses s. grant Union General during Civil War – Robert E. Lee surrendered to him at Appomattox Courthouse on April 9, 1865 ending the Civil War

President of the Confederacy - - Favored state’s rights Jefferson davis President of the Confederacy - - Favored state’s rights

Robert e. lee Confederate General during Civil War He surrendered to Gen. Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox Courthouse on April 9, 1865 – ending the Civil War.

John Bell hood Leader of the Confederacy’s Hood’s Texas Brigade. Most notable battle = Seven Day’s (Seven Pines) Campaign & fought at Battle of Gettysburg.
