Presentation transcript:

I believe that society’s portrayal of women (think models and movie stars) has led to unhealthy attitudes about body image and an epidemic of eating disorders.

I believe the US has a responsibility to help Third World countries, in particular when it comes to disease, natural disasters, debt relief, and genocide.

I believe the US should drastically reduce the number of immigrants allowed into the country and should send all current illegal immigrants back to their country of origin.

I believe creationism (the theory that a higher being created the earth and its inhabitants) should be taught in schools along with theories of evolution.

I believe that sex offenders who are convicted should never be released on parole.

I am a strong believer in animal rights, and believe that animals should not be used in the testing of cosmetics or medicinal products.

I believe that Americans should make every possible effort to buy things made in America.

I believe that if a mandatory draft were ever reinstated in this country, women should be included.

I believe that gun possession laws should be different in urban cities and rural populations, because of different intents and purposes.

I believe that many of the problems we face in society are caused by the lack of “traditional” families, in which the father works and the mother stays home to raise the children.

I believe that I, as an individual, have a responsibility to make choices to do things that will help defray the destruction caused by our society on the environment.

I believe that school boards and parents should have the right to censure books and other curricular material used in schools.

I believe that adults who are terminally ill should have the right to choose to end their own lives.

I believe in the death penalty.

I believe that torture is an acceptable and necessary tool in the interrogation of potential criminals, especially in regard to possible terrorists or other threats to US security.

I believe marriage is a sacred pact meant to be between one man and one woman.

I believe athletes, actors politicians, and other public figures have an obligation to serve as positive role models.

I believe driving while talking on cell phones or texting should be illegal.

I believe the driving age should be increased to 18.

I believe the government should provide child day care centers for working parents.

I believe genetic engineering should be funded by the government.

I believe the large salaries of professional athletes must be capped.

I do not think public servants (like school teachers, hospital workers, trash collectors) have the right to strike.

I believe society has an obligation to protect privacy as a basic individual right.

I believe sex and violence on TV an the internet should be restricted more.

I believe tobacco use should be illegal.

I believe "victimless crimes" such as prostitution and other sexual activity between consenting adults be free from governmental interference.

I believe the American system of justice need reform.

I believe people arrested for drugs should be sent to rehab rather than prison.

I believe every person should be guaranteed health care as a basic right.

I believe we handle addiction the wrong way in this country.

I do not believe we should make Spanish our second national language.

I believe the federal government has a responsibility to find a cure for cancer.

Stem cell research be funded by the federal government.

I believe tobacco companies should be held responsible for smoking-related illnesses and deaths.

I believe that what people do behind their own doors isn’t anyone else’s business.

I believe I should have the right to kill someone who trespasses on my property.

I believe that women and men should earn the same wage for the same work.

I believe that our criminal justice system penalizes people fairly, regardless of race or class.

I believe that we have an obligation to address the human trafficking epidemic.

I believe we should do whatever it takes, including another war, to defeat ISIS.
