WAG approach and pattern management

“Are you OK???? What is your BG?” High Hba1c trying to improve but feel bad when in “normal levels” Overtreating low blood glucose: the rollercoaster effect Dealing with an Hba1c that is higher than usual

TIPS The more you check…. Avoiding overtreatment What “habits” worked in the past?

“Be Brave enough to start a conversation that matters”. -Dau Voire

“to be PREPARED is HALF the VICTORY.” DAY to DAY LIVING: Be consistent with diabetes related responsibilities Forgive yourself-you will never be perfect…especially with diabetes Increase frequency of BG checks in life transition or when BGs have been higher Take insulin on schedule and practice ongoing pattern management-insulin needs change Eat right (most of the time) Pack all necessary diabetes related items when travelling elsewhere Laugh and choose a good attitude “to be PREPARED is HALF the VICTORY.” “Miguel De Cervantes”
