Learning to be responsible Homework 1 Language Arts: one column per day 1 Math: one sheet, both sides Decodable: different activities each day 100% of homework will be turned in, completed, and on time. They will receive a negative point on their class dojo for incomplete work Learning to be responsible

Class Dojo Class Dojo is a website to help in classroom management. *Students will receive “positive” points for positive behavior. *Students will receive “negative” points for negative behavior. www.classdojo.com or Classdojo app

Progress Report Students will take home a progress report regularly. It must me signed and returned the next day. I will attach their tests to the report.

Learning to be responsible Bathroom Policy Students are encouraged to go to the bathroom during before school, recess, during lunch recess, and after school. Students ARE allowed to go to the restroom during class, but I will keep track of how many times they go on their class dojo so you will also be aware. SAFETY: Students are unattended and bathrooms are outside of the building. Learning to be responsible

Attendance It is crucial that your child be here everyday and on time. School starts at 8:15 am. promptly and they should be in line by 8:10 am. Every time your child is absent or late, he/she misses instructional time and then later, has a hard time catching up with the rest of the students. Please schedule all appointments after school hours. Please use your parent judgment and keep them at home if they have a fever.

Our Goals for 1st Grade Language Arts Writing: Students will score a 3 or better (out of 4) on their writing tests. Language Arts Assessments: Students will score 80% or better (proficient or advanced) on all language arts assessments and quizzes. Reading : Level I or AR dark green (make 1.5 years of growth)

Our goals for 1st Grade Math Addition and subtraction fluency and understanding their relationships (part part whole, fact families) 2 digit place value understanding (tens and ones)

Accelerated Reader Students read books at their level and take comprehension quizzes.

RAZ Reading program to practice reading books at their level Listen, read, quiz www.raz-kids.com on tablets, laptops, smartphones

Reflex Math Math fact fluency- 15-20 minutes of practice www.reflexmath.com on tablets, laptops

Parent/Teacher Conferences Conferences will be from: October 30 – November 3. Dismissal will be at 1:00 (Thursday- 1:05). I will be sending a sign-up sheet closer to the date. We will discuss student progress at that time.
