The School LR Plan is a document that reflects and describes the areas of need in relation to teaching, learning and professional development which the school will prioritize and for which it will commit resources .

It embodies what a school wants to achieve and the manner with which to achieve them, be it by procurement, development or production of resources.

It is also an input to the School Improvement Plan (SIP),Annual Implementation Plan (AIP) and the IPCRF

Why a Learning Resource Plan Why a Learning Resource Plan ? A Learning Resource Plan is designed to help the School Heads and Teachers to:

Identify learning and teaching resource needs Assess and evaluate Learning Resource, Teaching Resource and Professional Development Material(PDMs) needs as part of the SIP process

Identify the areas of school need for TR/LR/PDMs to support the effective utilization of identified resources and the requisite teacher training/development in relation to:

Underachievement - test results in national/regional/division and periodical exam. NCBTS competencies - teacher competencies in subject areas and pedagogy and resource gaps across subject and year level

Differentiated instruction and requirement of other population that the school serves (e.g. special education ,special science curriculum, program for the gifted. Indigenization requirements

Alternative mode of delivery to improve access to education of target population (girls, out of school youth, seasonal absentees) Support facilities for the effective utilization of resources at the school level.

Elements of LR Plan Identified Areas of Need Objectives Targets Strategy/s Activity Person Responsible Funding Source MOV /Monitoring and Evaluation (AIP Adjustments Required)

Identified Areas of Needs This refers to the specific areas in the School Report Card on the following: Curriculum (Instruction LR/TR support) Teaching support Learning Support Management of Learning Performance Equipment Support (for teaching & learning)

Targets Are the measures used to specify the achievement of the planned objectives. These are used to declare if the implementation of the plan was a success or failure.

Objectives Describe the benefit that will be gained after the intervention as indicated in the plan is undertaken. It answer the question:

Strategy Activities are the activities and actions taken to contribute to the attainment of target /objectives.

Strategy Time Frame: Refers to the timeframe when the activities will be conducted. The following should be considered: Resource availability (time, funds, people) The accomplishment of some activities can be dependent of another activity. Identifying the links and dependencies of activities helps in the proper placing, timing and funding of activities.

Strategy Person Responsible: This refers to the human resource requirement. determine who takes the lead, who completes the task, who provides input or support in relation to the specified activities and timeframe

Strategy Funding & budget: What source/s of funds are available? In identifying the sources ensure that the plan in its entirety is not solely dependent on grants or MOOE. For major activities, attach budget.

Monitoring & Evaluation: Strategy Monitoring & Evaluation: This will become the basis for tracking the progress and to make timely adjustment to the AIP. Monitoring is the purposive gathering of pertinent information relative to how targets and the manner with which those targets are being achieved. Evaluation is the analysis of the information gathered during the monitoring phase with which to make judgment as to quantity and quality achievement of the objectives/targets. The evaluation may identify adjustments to be made.
