February 4-5 – Announcement Weekend 2017 Campaign February 4-5 – Announcement Weekend February 11-12 – Commitment Weekend February 18-19 – Follow-up Weekend

Your Speech Your main role will be to “bring to life” the Together in Mission campaign. You will most likely speak after a short homily/introduction from the pastor. Please prepare an 5-8 minute speech. Introduce yourself, your role at the parish/school, and thank the parish for inviting you. Incorporate specific stories and examples of how the funds are used at your parish or school. Be Balanced, if you are from a school, be sure to incorporate some parish stories

Speaker & Parish Expectations What parishes are expecting from you: To share general facts and figures about Together in Mission First hand testimonials about how the funds are used at your school/parish Awareness of their parish’s donation history. What parishes are NOT expecting For you to conduct in-pew process Be there for the Saturday Vigil 3. Speakers

Helpful Hints Be prepared. Get facts and figures about the parish that you are speaking to by contacting the TIM office. Reach out to the parish prior to the weekend you are to speak and know who you are supposed to meet at the parish and what time Start strong. Begin your speech with a powerful opening that will grab your audience's attention. Be conversational. Avoid reading your speech word for word. Instead, refer to notes or points from an outline to help your speech have a more free-flowing, conversational tone. Speak with passion. There isn’t one formula for an impactful speech. What we ask that comes forth is why you work at the parish/school? What are the stories that you want to have people understand about your parish, and how those experience are made possible through support from TIM

Next Steps Contact your parish to confirm that you are available to speak, at what Masses, and where and whom you are meeting the day of. Work on your speech Gather stories about how TIM supports your parish or school
