WORLD WAR II WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER

VERA LYNN Vera Lynn was born in East Ham in London on the 20th March 1917. She is now 98 years old and was married to Harry Lewis, but sadly he died in 1999. All her songs reminded the soldiers of their loved ones.

The White Cliffs Of Dover Vera Lynn sang a song called the white Cliffs Of Dover during World War Two. Some people said that the war was very depressing, but the song was to spur the soldiers on, and to lift everyone's spirits. The soldiers loved it! The song was meant to tell every one that the war would be over soon.

Thank you For watching.
