The IPCRG ‘Teach the Teacher’ initiative: Building a trusted faculty with the knowledge, influence, communication and teaching skills to deliver effective workshops that are relevant to the local situation, and can be embedded in local primary care.

AIM Project goal: to develop a sustainable network of teachers who will increase the capacity of healthcare professionals working in primary care to treat tobacco dependence. International teachers workshop: to teach a group of teachers from four countries, who are involved in continuing medical education, the skills and knowledge required to develop in-country programmes of education to treat tobacco dependence in primary care (Level 1).

In a third level, primary care educators will deliver education modules to improve knowledge, skills and confidence for treating tobacco dependence in their community, including GPs, FPs, medical assistants, nurses and pharmacists (Level 3).
