So even if you play early on Sunday come back down after 12pm and join in the Fun. Under 6’s Played – Valley Dragons Red 30-22 Loss A much improved effort from the gang this week. Our defence was fantastic, although we need to work on getting the wall set up. Everyone enjoyed their chance to have a run and we scored some good tries. I was happy with everyone’s performance, but special mention to Jack and Charlotte who had their best games for the year. Zig Under 7’s Played – Tuggeranong Buffaloes 26-24 Win   A hard fought win by the team. Once again we came up against a much bigger team and allowed a few early tries. Coach Billy asked for a greater effort in defence and the boys responded well. Everybody really put in a huge effort when we were under pressure after cruising in our earlier games. It was great to see the boys could tough it out when the going got tough. Well done to the whole team! Under 8's Played – South Tuggeranong Blue 42-6 Win Sunday saw the boys line up against the Knights. The boys were keen to play the game and their warm up training showed just how enthusiastic they were.  The game started well with Jacob as Captain and the boys seemed to be doing everything that Scrumpy had told them at training for the past few weeks.  They were able to pass the ball out wide and then back each other up when it came to scoring the tries.  A number of boys did an excellent job of “scooting” from dummy half!

GLR Financial Solutions Looking After Your Financial Life 6162 2555 Under 8’s (cont) This week saw what will end up being our forward pack run onto the ball and the boys soon realised that when they run on to the ball they actually gain far more ground then just standing still when they get it.  Our smaller boys including Kosta, Mark and Liam were tackling as hard as they could against the Knights. Noah, Jacob and Emmanuel were great at bursting through the middle and the little speedsters Aidan and Brayden were able to scoot up the sidelines and score for the team. Kai was his usual tackling machine getting a fair knock to the jaw in the process. Jack was also able to make great breaks and kick a big goal. It was also great to see Thomas back and able to run and tackle after his surgery. Zac was away this week. The man of the match for this week was Mark Fish.    The coach from the Knights commented throughout the whole game to his team on how well the Rams boys worked together as a team and that he couldn’t believe the boys tackling ability. This just proves how important it is for the boys to listen to Scrumpy at training so that they can put into practice what they learn on Thursday nights. Under 9’s Played – Valley Dragons Red – no report available HALLAM HOMES - 0413-865015 GLR Financial Solutions Looking After Your Financial Life 6162 2555 Under 10’s Played – Gungahlin Bulls Red 20-22 Loss Another tight game for the boys but unfortunately they just fell short this time. We came up against a very committed team and although playing well for the most part, we had little lapses of concentration and commitment which was the difference in the end. The game was very even from the outset and it took well into the 1st half for a try to be scored. Unfortunately that was for the Bulls and they followed it up shortly after with another and this is an area for the boys to work on. When a try is scored against us we need to put the pressure straight back on in defence and be enthusiastic instead of getting dejected. This showed after the 2nd Bulls try when defence was strong and we forced a turnover. From here we had a period of good ball movement in attack, moving the defence around and Brad was able to get a good pass away to Tom who scooted down the sideline to score. This good ball movement continued with Mick getting some good passes away to Daniel out wide to gain good ground and we can see a good combination forming here. Nick was making some great runs in the centre and when he can get a bit wider to receive the ball will do even more damage. We were getting stronger coming in to half time with Max and Joseph making some strong runs up the middle, Angus and Djai giving good service to Brad and Matt at 1st receiver who are getting the runners wider. The start of the second half saw us come out all guns blazing, with Anthony fired up for a big game after sitting on the bench in the first half. His first few runs were awesome and resulted in a great try which had us back level and looking to be on top. Bailey had a strong run, which we need him to do more of, Aydin made some more good tackles, Maikeli was looking dangerous again out wide while Billy made his best tackle of the year. Another good try gave us the lead but this is when the intensity dropped off. Not concentrating from the kick-off saw the Bulls re-gather the ball and our commitment in defence which had been great until this point dropped off. The Bulls ran in two tries before we woke up again. With time ticking away Riley took the ball from our own line and ran the length of the field to score a great try. He is becoming a crowd favourite with these long runs from deep in our own territory. Unfortunately time ran out before we could get the ball from the kick off and have another crack at them. We were only beaten by one goal and the big lesson for the boys is committing for the whole game. The Bulls did this a little better than us but we’re sure next time we won’t give them those little bits of breathing spaces. It looks like it will be a tight competition and we’re very keen to be playing in the big games at the end of the year. Man of the match this week for good involvement and improved effort in defence was Brad. Again thanks to Luke for coming and helping out in the warm up and on the bench.

Played – Yass 24-10 Win – no report available Under 11’s Played – Yass 24-10 Win – no report available Under 12's Played – Queanbeyan United Blue 0-22 Loss – no report available Woden and Batemans Bay Under 13’s Played – Queanbeyan Kangaroos Played Queanbeyan Roos won 18-14 A gutsy win from committed RAMS team. The Roos through everything at the RAMS but couldn't hold on with the RAMS winning on the final siren with a thrilling try under the posts. The forward pack led by Seb and Jack T. ran straight and hard all day. Big Seb crashed over for two tries earning himself the Man of the Match award. Good work Seb. Dean at No.9 was everywhere and took a good mid field bomb and recovered well from a late hit to play on in the second half. Scott, Reuben and Jake tackled all day with good support from interchange players Daniel and Pat. Jed and Simon weaved there magic all afternoon bamboozling the Roos defence. A quick move down the short side through the hands of Jesse and Kosta led to Ben scoring in the corner. Outwide Connor and Jack M where a handful for the Roos defence. George at fullback was solid at the back pulling off two try saving tackles on the giant Roos fullback who was steaming towards the line. And then to cap it all off he scored the match winning try as the siren sounded. A top effort from the boys against a fired up Roos outfit. Brendan, Gerry and John Under 14’s Played – Cooma 50-26 Win Boys, once again, we could tell that we were going to have a slow start to the game 45 minutes before kick off due to the ordinary attitude and warm-up. We need to have our heads on one hour before the game because when we play against the stronger sides they will take full advantage and won’t let us back into the game. Cooma got off to a great start with their big fullback running into holes and scoring 2 good tries in the first 10 minutes. After that, we realised that we were going to have to play some good footy to get back on top. Blake and Chris led the way with some good runs, and unfortunately one ended with Blake dislocating his knee-cap and looking like he is going to spend a few weeks on the sideline recovering. Once we got going we played plenty of good footy. Outstanding performances from Stevie D, Tyson Gavin, who is getting better each week, Mitch Smith, Gus Thompson, Brett Fish, Alim, and Jake enabled us to over power Cooma in the second half. It is really encouraging to see the improvement in the boys that have been in the side a while mixed with the new talent that we have picked up this year. Its up to you to keep it going, and if we continue to get good numbers at training there is no reason to not continue improving. Get well soon Blake, we will miss your great running while you are recovering. Tries – Chris 3, Gus 4, Steve 1, Mitch 1, and Jake 1 Goals – Reuben 2, Mitch 3 Cheers Adam, Ryan, and Country.
